Resources for State Agencies

Use this page to help your employees make the most of their benefits

Oregon has one of the toughest job markets for retaining good employees. More and more studies continue to show that quality benefits and opportunities for career growth are vital factors in employee retention. When employees feel confident that they are getting the most out of their career, they are more likely to stay with their employer.

Thanks to the labor-union partnership between the State of Oregon, SEIU 503 and AFSCME Council 75, Uplift Oregon provides trainings and resources to State of Oregon employees in the executive branch to help them understand how to make the most of their career.

Our primary offering is Uplift Your Benefits, a 2-hour workshop to help new hires make the most of their benefit. This workshop is mandatory for all new employees within the first 30 days of their employment. You can find resources for managers regarding this workshop below. Employees can find resources for the workshop on the Uplift Your Benefits page.

Uplift Oregon also offers optional workshops for employees who want deeper insight into the benefits available to them, including retirement benefits and wellness. To view the schedule, visit the events page

Last year, Uplift Oregon started the Career Mobility Program, which creates a pathway for incumbent employees to gain the training and education necessary to qualify for hard-to-fill positions within the State of Oregon. For additional information on this program, visit the Career Mobility Program page.
