Uplift Your Benefits Workshop
You matter. So do your benefits. We’re here to support you in making the most of them.
In the Uplift Your Benefits workshop, you will be introduced to the range of benefits available to you as a state employee so that you can make informed decisions for yourself and your family. This workshop is tailored for new employees to the State of Oregon but is also a great refresher for existing employees. After taking the workshop, you will have a better understanding of your state benefits and will have resources to take the next steps.
Benefits covered in this workshop include:
- Health insurance options
- Types of employee leave
- Public Service Loan Forgiveness program
- Other optional insurance
- Employee Assistance Program
- Flexible Spending Accounts
- Roles of Unions
In the last portion of the session, you will go into a breakout room based on your position’s union membership status (if applicable) to learn more about the systems available to support you.We will provide tools and resources to help you use your benefits with confidence.
Our goal is to reach 100% of new employees. All state employees can attend this session on work time. Please refer to your collective bargaining agreement or supervisor with questions. The Uplift Your Benefits training will be mandatory for new hires in positions represented by AFSCME and SEIU. The training will be offered within fourteen (14) days of a new hire. When possible, employees’ will sign up for their health insurance after going through the training.
